Jeep Wrangler fans like us at Roger Williams CJDR lay awake at night, unable to sleep, anticipating news of the next Wrangler, much in the same way children lay awake waiting for Christmas morning. But since Mike Manley’s comments at the New York Auto Show, Wrangler fans have been sleeping like rolled hoses.
The Jeep Wrangler will be new in 2017. What should we expect? Automobile Magazine breaks Manley’s comments down. He confirmed that the everyone’s favorite Jeep would continue to feature a body-on-frame, as opposed to rumors that suggested Jeep might go to a unibody design.
It’s been reported that the 2017 Wrangler will feature an aluminum body. This could help Jeep improve the Wrangler’s fuel economy by cutting some weight. Other possible changes include a turbo-diesel version.
Manley doesn’t foresee any changes for the 2017 Jeep Wrangler popping up that would alienate the Wrangler’s fiercely loyal fan base. “I think people who love Wrangler are going to be very pleased,” he said, “I can assure you that we’re not going to disappoint anybody.”
